A walk through history
Ashburton 1646, no one can escape the impact of the civil war. For Clara and her younger brother Edmund, the Civil War brings not only conflict but hope for a new way of life. Clara becomes actively involved in the Civil War after her younger brother goes missing at the Battle of Bovey. Now Clara would like to reach out over the years to tell you her story. To help her she enlists the help of Sarah who lived in Ashburton in the mid 1800s. Together the two women take you through the back lanes and streets of Ashburton to relive those heady days of the mid 1600’s.
